Monday's drawing at the London Olympics has put Vietnam's badminton ace Nguyen Tien Minh in Group D with Indian player Parupalli Kashyap and Tan Yuhan of Belgium.

Minh is currently ranked 11th in the world and chosen the 10th seed at the London Olympics, so he is the top seed in Group D.

Huynh Ngoc Lien, Head of the Vietnamese badminton team, said there are 16 groups in the first round where the players play round-robin matches.

The best player from each group advances to the second round. So Minh must beat both players in his group to book a second round berth.

Minh is not expected to have much difficulty in the game against the 54th-ranked Belgian player but he is likely to have a tougher time against Kashyap, currently ranked 21st in the world.

Out of the five clashes with the Indian so far, Minh has won three and lost two.

The badminton matches are set to start on July 28th at the Wembley Arena.
