Brazil, Japan and Thailand will compete with hosts Vietnam at the International Futsal Cup at Ho Chi Minh City's Phu Tho Sports Complex from November 19-22.
Reigning Asian football champions Japan will play against Southeast Asian champs Thailand on opening day Tuesday before the Thai futsal squad will clash with World futsal champs Brazil the next day.
Tran Anh Tu, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation, said, "Vietnam has been able to invite the world's leading teams to Vietnam because Vietnamese futsal has been growing rapidly recently [Vietnam is currently second behind reign champs Thailand in Southeast Asia].
"Japan and Thailand said they want to help Vietnam improve indoor football, so they won't be paid any fee for their performances at this event. Brazil will take some fee but it is not much while their participation will be a valuable chance for Vietnamese futsal players to learn and gradually make improvements on the international stage."
The organizers said the tickets would only cost VND50,000 (just a little more than 2 US dollars) each.
