Thanh Nhan wins Mekong Delta cycling competition

Truong Nguyen Thanh Nhan of the Saigon 1 Plant Protection Company won the Mekong Delta cycling contest which ended in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday, November 22.

Nhan covered the 548km distance of the four-stage tour in a total of 13 hours and 38 seconds, winning the overall yellow jersey for the cyclist who finished the tour in the shortest time.

The second place trophy went to Nguyen Nam Cuc (also of Saigon 1 Plant Protection Company) while Nguyen Tan Hoai of Domesco Dong Thap took third. Hoai also won the white jersey award for the youngest and most excellent cyclist.

Saigon 1 Plant Protection Company took the "best team" title while Domesco Dong Thap squad was in second and Saigon 2 Plant Protection Company team came in third.

The 13th edition of the tour was held by Ho Chi Minh City's Radio Station in cooperation with the People's Committees of District 5 and Hoc Mon District.

The tour, which started in Ho Chi Minh City on November 19, attracted 150 cyclists from 13 teams. The competitors cycled through 8 cities in four days before making their return.
