Hanoi's Thanh Bao took the men's singles title at the 2010 National Chinese Chess Championships after drawing with HCMC's Hoang Lam in the ninth game in Hanoi on Thursday October 14.
Ho Chi Minh City's Trenh A Sang and Truong A Minh finished in second and third places in the men's category, and was able to win the men's team championship ahead of Hanoi's men.
Ho Thi Thanh Hong from Binh Dinh Province won the women's singles title with Ha Mai Hoa of the Ministry of Public Security and HCMC's Ngo Lan Huong came in second and third respectively.
Ho Chi Minh City successfully defended their women's team championship and it was their eight consecutive team title. Women from the Ministry of Public Security and Binh Dinh Province were in second and third positions.
After this event, the national players will get together to train for the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou from November 12-27 and the Asian Chinese Chess Team Competition in Malaysia from November 28- December 3.
