Spain's Tommy Robredo was the first player to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City on September 29 for the Heineken Stars 2010 contest.
The Spanish star, who reached the semifinals of the Swedish Open in July, will next be competing in China.
"I think the Heineken Stars will be good preparation for the China Open next week, which I'm playing in," said the 42-ranked tennis player.
The tournament will see a number of tough eggs. Mardy Fish (USA) is the world's 19th ranked player, while Sam Querrey (USA) is ranked 21st. Meanwhile, Argentina's Juan Monaco is ranked 35th.
According to the draw, Querrey will play Juan Monaco in the first semifinal at 6 p.m. today. The second match will be between Fish and Robredo.
The final will take place at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The stars will also hold a tennis clinic for advanced junior players.
