Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) won the Under-17 national football championship 2012 in an impressive comeback, hammering Dong Tam Long An (DTLA) 7-2 at Hue's Tu Do Stadium Friday.
It was their seventh title in nine editions of the tournament. SLNA grabbed six consecutive titles from 2004 till 2009 before Da Nang took two consecutive championships in 2010 and 2011.
It was a nice surprise for the champions because DTLA took the lead early in the first half and finished the first half leading 2-1.
However, SLNA came out in full attack mode in the second half, and their relentless attacks put DTLA under constant pressure. The leveler by Tuan Tai two minutes after the break was the turning point.
DTLA's coach showed his inexperience, spending more time reacting to the referee's decisions than encouraging his players to keep calm.
Additionally, DTLA's Trong Nghia was sent off with a red card after tackling a SLNA player in the 70th minute when the score was 4-2 for SLNA.
With the advantage of more players, SLNA scored three more goals for a comprehensive victory.
SLNA striker Dinh Chau was chosen the best player of the event while his teammate, striker Tuan Tai, won the best scorer title with five goals. DTLA's goalie Vinh Phu was chosen the best custodian though his team conceded 7 goals in the final match.
