The Saigon Heat lost on Wednesday to the Philippines Patriots 73-57 at Tan Binh Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City in the 11th round of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL).
With high spirits after three consecutive wins and aiming to finish among the ABL's top four, Vietnam's first professional basketball club did their best to pull out a fourth straight win.
The game was close for most of the way, with the Heat trailing by just five points entering the final quarter. However, the Patriots went on a 10-0 run that showed why they are currently leading the ABL.
The Heat, who were led by Jonathan Jones' 28 points and 13 rebounds, were fatigued after playing three games in six days and committed far too many turnovers to mount a comeback.
The Heat next take on the Indonesia Warriors at home on Saturday before starting a road trip.
