The battle for this year's V-League championship is still raging after Hanoi T&T and Da Nang were held at bay and Saigon Xuan Thanh climbed a step closer to the league leaders with a win in the 24th round Sunday.

Third-place Saigon Xuan Thanh took a 4-1 home win over The Vissai Ninh Binh at Ho Chi Minh City's Thong Nhat Stadium.

First-place Hanoi T&T fought to a 1-1 home draw with Khatoco Khanh Hoa at Hanoi's Hang Day Stadium, while second-place Da Nang finished with a scoreless home draw against Navibank Saigon at Chi Lang Stadium.

Saigon Xuan Thanh now have 44 points while 2010 champs Hanoi T&& have 46 points and 2009 champs Da Nang have 45 points.

There are only two more rounds to go and Saigon Xuan Thanh will take on Hanoi T&T in the league's final round.

The one point Khanh Hoa earned from the draw with Hanoi T&T gave them 26 points. They are now tied for tenth place with Kien Giang.

The Khanh Hoa draw has made things more difficult for Dong Thap, who lost 1-0 away to Hoang Anh Gia Lai at Pleiku Stadium on Saturday. The Mekong Delta side have only 24 points and are still facing relegation in second-to-last place on the 14-team table.
