Ninh Binh thrashed Da Nang 4-1 at home in the 8th round of the top-flight V-League on Sunday, with Ivory Coast striker Moussa Sanogo scoring all four goals.

Da Nang, which has advanced to the second round of Asia's second-tier AFC Cup, was the better side in the first half and took the lead when striker Ha Minh Tuan scored nine minutes before halftime.

However, the visitors' defense looked sluggish in the second half, making it possible for the hosts to emerge victorious.

The 2007-08 champs Binh Duong won its first match of the 2013 season, beating the visitors the 2010 champs Hanoi T&T 3-1 at Go Dau Stadium.

But the home win could not lift Binh Duong out of the cellar because Kien Giang beat visiting Dong Tam Long An 3-2 on Saturday.

Xuan Thanh Saigon, which has been eliminated from AFC Cup contention, took a 2-1 home win over visiting Thanh Hoa at Ho Chi Minh City's Thong Nhat Stadium.

2011 V-League champs Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) on Saturday suffered its first loss in the season to Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) at Pleiku Stadium. Despite the 2-1 defeat, SLNA remains atop the V-League with 19 points, followed by HAGL with 16 points.
