Navibank Saigon shut out V-League champions Song Lam Nghe An (SLNA) 3-0 to win the 2011 National Cup at Ho Chi Minh City's Thong Nhat Stadium on Saturday.

The win looked easy for the hosts and the visitors appeared prepared to hand the trophy over to the Ho Chi Minh City squad from the first whistle.

Visitors SLNA deteriorated throughout the game and it was not difficult for striker Quang Hai to score the opener before Quang Huong's double.

SLNA gained a bit of steam near the end of the match so as not to disappoint their 5,000 odd fans, but they failed to convert on several chances.

Now SLNA and Navibank Saigon will represent Vietnam at Asia's second-tier AFC Cup 2012. Also, they will battle it out against each other again in December for the super cup trophy before the start of  the 2012 season of Vietnam's top-tier V-League.
