Cambodian Vovinam Federation Chairman Rat Sokhorn, who is also Minister of Economics and Investment, has been promoting Vietnamese martial arts in Cambodia.

H.E Rat Sokhorn, whose mother is Vietnamese, got to know master Nguyen Van Chieu in Ho Chi Minh City and studied Vovinam from 1970 till 1975 before he began teaching vovinam at Ho Chi Minh City's Labor Culture Palace from 1976 till 1979.

He later returned to Cambodia to do business but his passion for the sport has always been strong, so he started vovinam classes. About 500 Cambodians practice vovinam regularly.

I hope the vovinam family will grow bigger and bigger so that more and more people will learn the humanistic philosophy of the martial art."
