Vietnamese American midfielder Lee Nguyen has signed an 18-month contract with V-League runners-up Binh Duong.
Under the contract signed Wednesday, Nguyen will play for the 2007-08 champions from the second half of the V-League 2010 season, beginning May 30.
His salary was not announced but it might be around US$10,000 per month, similar to what he received from his previous team, V-League powerhouse Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL).
HAGL fired Lee on February 27 for disobeying their coach Kiatisuk Senamuang.
In the second-round home match in Pleiku on February 7, Kiatisuk asked Lee to warm up for a substitution about 15 minutes from full time, but the Vietnamese expat refused.
Lee moved to HAGL from Danish club Randers in January, 2009 on a three-year contract with a monthly salary of US$10,000 plus bonuses.
In the 2009 season, Lee scored 12 goals for the Central Highlands club. He is considered one of the best players in the league.
