Indonesian tennis players on Sunday took both the singles and doubles titles at the National Men's Tennis Open Tanimex Cup 2010.
Ketut Nesa Arta beat Thailand's Pongsiri Niroj 7-5, 6-3 in the men's singles finals to take the US$2,500 cash-prize and later teamed up with compatriot Christopher Rungkat to thrash Vietnamese duo Do Minh Quan and Le Quoc Khanh in straight sets 6-1, 6-2.
In the semi-finals on Saturday, Ketut-Nesa Arta beat Vietnam's top player and defending champ Do Minh Quan.
Quan lost the first set 3-6 but the support from the home fans boosted him and he took the second 6-2.
But he seemed to have used all his strength in the second set, and Indonesia's number five romped home at 6-1.
It was the first time in the tournament that Quan had made it to the finals, having won all previous editions. Vietnamese tennis fans were disappointed to see Quan unable to match Indonesian both physically and technically.
In the other semifinal match, Pongsiri Niroj beat Indonesia's Christopher Rungkat 6-1, 5-7, 7-6.
