Sixteen-year-old Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen bagged 16 of 17 gold medals as Ho Chi Minh City swimmers finished first at the 2011 national short swimming-pool competition that ended in Thua Thien-Hue on Friday March 25.
The city's swimmers won a total 17 gold, 14 silver and eight bronze medals, thanks to Tuyen's stupendous efforts.
Swimmers from the Central city of Da Nang earned 12 gold, three silver and seven bronze medals to take second place while Quang Binh swimmers were third with four gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
Swimmers from the capital city of Hanoi finished the contest in seventh place with just two gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
A total of nine records were broken at the swimming event this year.
