The 2011 Taolu (a wushu category) competition took place at Ho Chi Minh City's Phan Dinh Phung Sports Center in District 1 on March 31.

Around 100 wushu martial artists from 12 cities, provinces and agencies nationwide competed in the event which, according to local pundits, was likely to be dominated by Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security and the Military.

Last year, Hanoi finished first with 21 gold, a silver and three bronze medals while Ho Chi Minh City came in second place with seven gold, nine silver and seven bronze medals, followed by the Ministry of Public Security with four gold medals.

The taolu contest will be followed by a sanshou (another wushu category) contest in Buon Ma Thuot Town of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak from April 5 till 12.
