Hanoi tower selected for world vertical run

The 2012 Vertical World Circuit will reach Vietnam on September 30, when racers will climb up the country's tallest building, the Landmark 72 Tower in Hanoi.

Registration costs US$18 but participants can book by August 3, and save $3.

Entrants for Corporate or Team Challenge (4 runners) will receive a group discount of $4, meaning group registration will cost $68. If done by August 3, it will cost $56.

The tower, 350 meters tall, is located on Pham Hung Street, Tu Liem District. The race will finish at the rooftop observation deck after a climb of 1,914 steps.

Racers are called on to make donations the INSPIRE Sports Program of the East Meets West Foundation, a US-based non-profit organization. The program aims to deliver and promote inclusive sports for people of all abilities in Vietnam.

The 2012 vertical world circuit comprises of nine races in New York, London, Milan, Basel, Berlin, Taipei, Hanoi and Singapore. Sao Paolo, Brazil will host the circuit final in November where the two world champions will be crowned and receive the $6,000 prize.
