Dutch football legend Ruud Gullit and former Barcelona defender Carles Puyol are set to bring the UEFA Champions League trophy to Vietnam next week.
The trophy will arrive in Ho Chi Minh City on April 8, Da Nang on April 9, Nha Trang on April 10 and Hanoi on April 11 as part of a world tour organised by UEFA and Heineken.
Gullit was the captain of the Netherlands national team that won the Euro 88 and was also a member of the squad at the 1990 World Cup and Euro 92. He is currently manager of Russian club Terek Grozny.
Carles Puyol played for his only club, Barcelona, from 1999 to 2014, captaining them for a long time from 2004 onwards and appearing in 593 official games for the club, winning 21 major titles, including the Champions League thrice.
The Champions League trophy is on a world tour for the 11th year.
It was brought to Vietnam for the first time in 2014.
The UEFA Champions League final is scheduled to be held at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy, on May 28. The quarter finals begin this week.
