After two days of showing off their skills at a try-out, four Vietnamese boys were selected for the Dream the Blues program, which will send them to visit the English Premier League club Chelsea in London.
The four kids -- Nguyễn Tiến Ba, Huỳnh Đức Hoàng, Lê Minh Nhật (all from Ho Chi Minh City) and Nguyễn Hoài Thông (from the Mekong Delta province of Đồng Tháp) -- were carefully selected from 180 kids around the country. They will travel to London in May to meet stars Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard and John Terry.
Coach Steve Winnett, who used to be a Chelsea defender and is currently chief coach of Chelsea’s global development division, said that the four selected Vietnamese kids showed great passion for football. They were the most prominent among the participants.
The four Vietnamese kids will travel to London with 12 other kids selected from China, Colombia and Russia for the campaign.
