Another five teams registered for the Thanh Nien-sponsored Under-21 national football tournament 2010 on Wednesday.
The first was V&V United, who participated in the fourth-tier national tournament last year.
The second was Binh Phuoc, who have never participated in the U21 competition before.
The third team was Xuan Thanh Ha Tinh, who wants to its young players to compete in this event to prepare for the third-tier national tournament.
Additionally, Lam Dong and Hong Bang University have returned after not taking part in the event for several years.
VFF will put the teams in six groups based on their geographical locations and announce the tournament's regulations in April.
These five additional teams, together with thirty-one others, will play qualifying matches from June 10-25 in six localities: Nam Dinh (Group A), Nghe An (Group B), Binh Dinh (Group C), Ho Chi Minh City (Group D), Long An (Group E) and Ca Mau (Group F).
The thirty-six teams in the six groups will fight for the top place of each group to qualify for the final competition at the 14th national youth football event.
Da Nang and the central highlanders Gia Lai, who receive byes as defending champs and hosts respectively, will compete along with the top-placed teams from the six groups in the finals in Pleiku October 9-19.
