Cyclist Hieu wins 13th consecutive title

Cyclist Mai Cong Hieu continued his long-standing dominance at the National Cycling Competition 2010 finishing first in the men's 40km race in Hoa Binh Province on Sunday.

Hieu's successful defense of his title for the 13th year running took him 53 minutes 58.60 seconds, 27.23 seconds faster than second-placed Bui Minh Thuy while Mai Nguyen Hung finished third in 56 minutes 31.23 seconds.

In the women's 29km race, Cao Thi Thuy Trang won the gold medal in 42 minutes 16.24 seconds, ahead of second-placed Pham Thi Thuy Lien who was 21.93 seconds slower and third-placed Dang Huong Thao who finished in 42 minutes 59.81 seconds.
