China took the 15th Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship 2010 after beating South Korea in straight sets in the final match at HCMC's Phan Dinh Phung Sports Center on Monday.

The Chinese girls used their height advantage to good effect, blocking most attacks from the rivals to take the first set 25-18.

The South Korean girls put on an improved performance in the second set but couldn't avoid a 21-25 loss before going on to lose the final set 17-25.

In the fight for the third place, Japan, who were upset 1-3 by South Korea in the semifinals, defeated Thailand in straight sets and became the third Asian team to qualify for the World Youth Girls Volleyball Championships to be held in Turkey in 2011.

The Vietnamese team was defeated in straight sets by Indonesia in the fight for seventh place. It was the third time in a fortnight that Vietnam had lost to the same rivals.
