Vietnamese pistol shooter Nguyen Hoang Phuong won Vietnam's first silver medal on the opening day of the 2014 Asian Games in the 50m pistol event at the Ongnyeon International Shooting Range in Incheon, South Korea, on Saturday.
Indian shooter Jitu Rai bagged the gold medal in the event, accumulating 186.2 points in comparison to Phuong's 183.4. Wang Zhiwei of China stood a distant third with 165.6 points.
The shooting team also clinched Vietnam's first medal at the Games by finishing third in men's team 50m pistol final with a score of 1670. China clinch gold with 1692.
