Host Becamex Binh Duong lifted the national Super Cup's trophy for the third time after defeating Hai Phong 1-0 at Go Dau Stadium on Saturday.
Becamex Binh Duong, the reigning V-League champion, mostly defended on home ground in the first minutes.
Becamex Binh Duong’s two key players are absent from the match, including Tan Tai, who was recovering from an injury and Cong Vinh, who tying the knot in a fanfare wedding ceremony with singer Thuy Tien.
However, the host team began to possess the ball more from 15th minute with sharp attacks from good coordination between Trong Hoang and Abass.
In the 35th minute, Anh Duc scored the match’s only goal for Becamex Binh Duong with a volley from outside the box.

Earlier in August, Hai Phong defeated Becamex Binh Duong 2-0 at the latter’s Lach Tray Stadium to claim the National Cup.
Binh Duong claimed the Super Cup twice in 2007 and 2008 while Hai Phong won the cup once in 2005.
The Super Cup match has been held between the V-League champions and the National Cup winners every year since 1999, with 10 football clubs having been crowned. Song Lam Nghe An were the most successful, lifting the trophy four times (including three consecutive times from 2001 to 2003), followed by two-time winners Hoang Anh Gia Lai and Becamex Binh Duong.
The V-League 2015 will kick off on January 4 with two matches. Host Becamex Binh Duong will play Dong Thap while Hai Phong will move to Vinh to play against Song Lam Nghe An.
