The 2012 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup drawing in Bangkok on Wednesday put Vietnam in Group A along with hosts Thailand, the Philippines and the top-placed team in the qualifiers.
Group B comprises co-hosts Malaysia, who are also the reigning champion, Indonesia, Singapore and the team that finishes second in qualifiers held in Myanmar from October 5-13 between the hosts, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei and Timor-Leste.
After the group stage in Thailand and Malaysia from November 24 to December 1, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals played in two legs.
The cash prize for the champions has been raised from USD100,000 in 2010 to $200,000 at this event. The runners-up will get $75,000 while the two third-placed teams will each eat $50,000.
