The draw for the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Susuki Cup 2012 will take place in Bangkok next Wednesday July 14, the organizers have said.
As planned, six teams, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines will be divided into two groups.
Thailand and Malaysia will host the groups.
Also, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei and Timor-Leste will compete at a qualifying event in Myanmar from October 5-13 and the top two teams will qualify for the event co-hosted by Thailand and Malaysia from November 24 till December 22.
AFF plans to put Vietnam and Indonesia in two different groups because the two teams had the best results at the AFF Cup 2006, 2008 and 2010.
The federation has also intends to put Singapore and the Philippines in two groups; and the best two teams from the contest in Myanmar will also be in two different groups.
Therefore, Vietnam will face Malaysia or Thailand and Singapore or the Philippines in the group stage from November 24 till December 10.
