Hoa Phat Hanoi, DTLA through to National Cup football final
Dong Tam Long An (DTLA) and Hoa Phat Hanoi are to butt heads in the final game of Vietnam’s National Cup 2006 after winning their respective semifinals matches on August 26 and 27.

The final game is slated to kick off September 3 in northern Ninh Binh province.

Defending champion DTLA got one hand on the trophy after defeating Binh Dinh 4-2 in the semifinals on August 26.

Hoa Phat Hanoi clobbered Danang 4-2 on August 27 to pave its way through to the eagerly-anticipated final game.

The upcoming final is the last football match in the 2006 season in Vietnam after DTLA took home the title of the top-tier V-League which had concluded on August 20 and Dong Thap winning First Division 2006 closing on August 19.

Vietnam’s National Cup 2006 is the result of participation of 27 teams from V-League and the second-tier First Division of the country.
