Vietnam second behind China in World Wushu Champs
Bui Thi Nhu Trang (R)
Vietnam grabbed five gold, eight silver, and three bronze medals to achieve its target of placing second at the World Wushu Championship which ended Wednesday in Hanoi.

China, spiritual homeland of the martial art, took home 18 golds to top the medals tally.

Bui Nguyen Thuy Ngan, Le Thi Thoa, and Nguyen Duc Trung in taolu (non-combat), and Bui Thi Nhu Trang and Ha Thi Hanh in sanshou (combat) were the five Vietnamese gold medalists.

The championship saw 525 players from 65 nations and territories participating.

In the previous world champs, held in Macau two years ago, too Vietnam had finished second behind China with four gold, five silver, and three bronze medals.
