Vietnam's Nguyen Hoang Thien and Ly Hoang Nam both advanced to the third round of the Asian Junior Tennis Open championships in South Korea after Wednesday big wins.
Nam, 15, who beat the 5th seeded Taiwanese Yu Cheng-Yu 6-2, 6-3 on Tuesday, continued to play well, beating host player Jung Hyeon-il 7-5, 6-0 on Wednesday.
Nam, who is currently ranked 283rd in the world junior rankings and who became the youngest ever to win Vietnam's national tennis championship early last month, is likely to clash with 10th seeded Korean Kim Young-seok in the third round, where the two players will battle for a berth in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old Thien, who beat the host player Sim Seongbin 3-6, 6-0, 6-1 in the first round, defeated Hua Runhao of China 7-5, 6-2 in the second round to earn a third round berth.
Hoang Thien, who is 138th in the world junior rankings, is likely to face 3rd seed Norrie Cameron from New Zealand in round three.
