15th Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship opens in HCMC

The 15th Asian Youth Girls Volleyball Championship started in Ho Chi Minh City on Sunday, September 12, with participants from 15 countries and territories, including China, Japan and South Korea.

The players, who are under 18 years old and are key players for their national teams, will play round-robin format matches in four groups at the Phan Dinh Phung and Tan Binh Sports Centers.

The Two best teams at the event that will end on Monday, September 20, will compete at the World Youth Girls Volleyball Championships to be held in Turkey in 2011. One or two other teams could get a wild card to the contest.
