A motorbike manufactured by Yamaha Motor Vietnam exploded on a Ho Chi Minh City street on Sunday morning.
The Luvias, driven by Truong Van Tan, 16, caught fire near the Le Quang Dinh-No Trang Long crossroad in Binh Thanh District at around 11:10 a.m.
As soon as he discovered the fire, Tan jumped off of the bike.
He said the fire consumed the bike in around 10 minutes before exploding. Tan tried to put the fire out with an extinguisher but was unsuccessful.
When the fire was put out, only the iron frame remined.
Local police confiscated the frame for investigation.
Tan said he had bought the bike around six months ago and nothing was wrong with the bike until Sunday.
The same day, a Yamaha Nouvo, driven by a man named Mau, caught fire while traveling on a bridge in Hoai Nhon District in the central province of Binh Dinh.
After he smelled smoke, Mau stopped the bike and threw it into water.
The bike, which was bought three years ago, was slightly damaged.
