Two workers in the northern province of Quang Ninh have been found dead between two stacked containers, VnExpress reported Tuesday.

The newswire quoted leaders of the Cai Lan Port as saying that the victims were Bui Van Thuong and Nguyen Xuan Cuong, both 18-year old workers at Thuong Viet Joint-stock Company in Ha Long Town.

Initial information showed that on August 30, after completing an assignment to supervise the delivery of Cai Lan Vegetable Oil Co., Ltd, they climbed on top of the 20-feet container to sleep.

While they were sleeping, a driver accidentally put another container on top of them, police said.

According to police, because the incident happened during the Independence Day (September 2) holiday, the workers' bodies weren't found until their families filed a missing persons report with the police.

Further investigations into the case are now underway.
