Two workers died after a scaffold collapsed at a construction site in Hanoi Monday.
Eyewitnesses said they heard a huge sound from the construction site of the Nam Do Complex building on Truong Dinh Street in Hoang Mai District at around 10:20 a.m.
They saw the bodies of two workers falling off the 18th floor of the building as the scaffold collapsed.
The two workers were rushed to hospital but they died shortly afterwards.
The workers were then identified as Nguyen Van Cu, 48, of Yen Bai Province and Mai Truc Thong, 21, of Tuyen Quang Province.
The contractor of the Nam Do Complex project is Vimeco Joint Stock Company - a subsidiary of Vietnam Construction and Export-Import Corporation (Vinaconex).
The investor of the project GP Invest was unable to be reached for comment about the accident.
Local police are investigating the incident.
