The Delegation of European Union is organizing roundtable discussions on the success of Vietnamese women in modern society in Ho Chi Minh City on May 11 and Hanoi on May 13.
Professionals in the fields of culture, arts, media, and the general public will participate in the discussions, "Shared values of successful women in Vietnam's modern society."
Nowadays, Vietnamese women frequently opt for higher education, and succeed in fields as diverse as business, arts, biology, and education.
Yet, there's still a long way to go before women claim their rightful and equal place in society.
Researchers will discuss whether women have the freedom of choice - in what they do and how they live, with or without a male guardian, with or without children, with or without bosses at work.
The event will be held in Hanoi on May 13, 5.30 p.m. at Goethe Institute, 56-58 Nguyen Thai Hoc, and in HCMC on May 11, 5.30 p.m. at Saturday Café, 37 Nguyen Dinh Chieu.
