A Binh Phuoc court on Friday sentenced a 22-year-old woman to nine months in prison for insulting and attacking a group of traffic police officers after they pulled her over for a violation last year.
Trinh Thi Thao Quyen was found guilty of opposing officers on duty.
According to the indictment, a group of five officers was patrolling Provincial Road 741 at 4:40 p.m. on November 13 when they saw Quyen riding a motorbike with two people behind her. The other two did not wear crash helmets.
After being pulled over, Quyen began to insult the policemen and refused to take a breath alcohol test.
She ripped the name tag off an officer's shirt and threw it away.
She then took off her own shirt, continued to insult the officers and eventually attacked them with a stick.
The policemen decided to arrest her.
