Police in Hanoi are investigating the death of a Vietnamese woman whose body was found inside a hotel room, a few days after an argument with her Singaporean boyfriend.
An employee at the five-star hotel in the city downtown found the body of Lam Thi Hoa, 24, on September 30 after she overstayed her original booking.
Police said she may have died two or three days before that.
Investigation found she booked the room with her 32-year-old boyfriend after he flew to Vietnam on September 26.
But they had an argument the same day and Hoa left. She received an apology text message from his number and came back that night, police said.
Her family said they did not hear from her after that.
Police said Hoa, a migrant from Bac Giang Province who worked as a hairdresser in Hanoi, knew the man from a trip to Singapore early this year.
He has since flown to Hanoi more than 20 times to visit her during weekends.
They said the man had returned to Singapore, according to officials at Noi Bai Airport.
