A 21-year-old woman succumbed to brain injuries after falling out of an open bus door while traveling at highway-speed.
The victim, Pham Thi Thuy Linh of Long An Province's Can Giuoc District, died at Ho Chi Minh City's Cho Ray Hospital, VnExpress quoted the provincial police department spokesman Nguyen Van Duc as saying on Thursday.
Investigators said Linh took a bus from her hometown to HCMC on the morning of April 20.
The bus driver left the door open while speeding and Linh fell off on National Highway 50 in Can Giuoc District's Truong Binh Commune. She was taken to Cho Ray Hospital and died several days later due to brain injuries, said investigators.
Duc said investigators were considering pressing charges against the driver, 39-year-old Nguyen Van Vuong of Can Giuoc District.
