Woman dies as train, car collide in central Vietnam

A woman died on the spot and a man was critically injured when their car collided with a train in the central province of Khanh Hoa on Monday.
The accident occurred as the car was crossing a north-south section of rail in Van Ninh District at around 5:20 a.m., according to Nguyen Dinh Tan, director of Phu Khanh Railway Company.
The train slammed into the car as it neared the beach town of Quy Nhon.
The crossing was equipped with an automatic alarm system that used lights and bells, according to Tan.
The victims were identified as To Dinh Phu, 58, who drove the car, and Vo Thi Suong, 59. Their sedan was totaled.
Local agencies are investigating the case.
