Heavy rains and strong winds on Sunday night in Ho Chi Minh City caused the death of a female bicycle rider, police said Monday.
The body of Nguyen Thi Be Tu, 47, was discovered by her relatives at around 9 p.m. in a 3-meter-deep stream in District 9, an outlying district north east of the city center.
Her bike was found on the road near the stream.
Tu was on her way home while strong winds allegedly blew her away, investigators said, adding that the high water and strong currents may have made it impossible for her to swim.
Police ruled out the possibility of suicide.
