A social experiment has showed that many local residents are very kind
Residents in Da Nang and the ancient town of Hoi An have showed their kindness and integrity in a “wallet drop” social experiment.
The experiment was conducted by youth group Black or White in crowded places including supermarkets, cinemas and parks in August.
A young man pretended to drop a wallet to see how people around him reacted.
A total 40 wallets had been dropped, of which 34 ones were returned immediately to the man.
The remaining wallets had been taken. Some residents only returned the wallets after checking what's inside.
The group concluded that that the honesty rate of the residents is 85 percent.
It was the first experiment in Da Nang carried out by Black or White, formed by a group of Vietnamese students who say they are interested in transparency and life values.
