Vung Tau police bust casino, arrest Chinese, Vietnamese

Police in the southern province of Ba Ria Vung Tau arrested a Chinese national Wednesday on suspicion of illegally running a casino.


Liu Jin, 21, was taken into custody following a November 11 raid of a casino in Vung Tau, police said.


During the raid they found 13 people gambling, and confiscated 17 gambling machines together along with 10 kilograms of coins.


Manager Nguyen Huu Nha told police the casino was run by Liu and Nguyen Van Mau, native of Nghe An Province in the central region.


The casino earned around VND1 billion ($51,295) each month, according to Nha.


The investigation continues to be underway.
