A South Korean man has been fined VND4 million (US$180) after he was found smoking while on a Korean Air flight from Seoul to Hanoi on Wednesday.
The fine was issued by Vietnam’s Northern Airports Authority.
Lee Sun Ho, 46, was caught having a cigarette by cabin crew of flight KE679 from Incheon to Noi Bai at 8.15 p.m.
After the plane landed in Noi Bai about an hour later, Lee was handed over to the airport authorities.
Last month, another South Korean passenger was imposed with a similar fine for smoking on a plane.
According to a Vietnam government decree, in-flight smoking is subject to a fine of between VND3 million and VND5 million.
