The Vietnam Book of Records (Vietkings) said it will recognize a 106-year-old woman and her 104-year-old husband as the oldest married couple in Vietnam, along with another severely elderly couple.
Vietkings recently happened upon Tran Thi Chau, 106, and her husband Truong Triem, 104, in the central province of Quang Tri, Lao Dong (Labor) newspaper reported.
The couple has seven children, the oldest of whom is 72 years old and the youngest 64 years old.
They have 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The couple said the key to a long life was mutual understanding and sharing.
In July, Vietkings recognized Cao Vien, 106, and his wife Vu Thi Hai, 100, of a rural village in the north-central province of Nghe An, as the oldest couple in Vietnam.
The following month, the couple was recognized as Asia’s oldest couple by the Asia Book of Records.
