Malaysian police are investigating the death of a Vietnamese woman who fell from the 13th floor of a condominium in Petaling Jaya City on Saturday.

According to reports from the Bernama news agency, Nguyen Thi Thong, 26, landed on the boot of a car which was entering a parking bay outside the Tropicana City Mall at 10:45 a.m.

The agency reports quoted Petaling Jaya Deputy Police Chief Supt Mior Hamdan Mior Mohd as saying the woman, dressed only in shorts, died instantly from critical head and body injuries.

He said Thong had been renting a unit in the condominium for the past three months and was believed to have fallen from a bedroom window.

Police recorded a statement from a local man, in his 40s, who works as a manager at a private company.

Sir Daus, a police investigator working the case told Thanh Nien that the man was Thong's boyfriend and was believed to have been in the apartment during the incident.

The woman's body has been sent to the University of Malaya's Medical Center for a post-mortem.

Mohd urged anyone with information on the case to contact Petaling Jaya police at 03-79662222.
