Police in southern Vietnam's Tien Giang Province are looking for the son of a police commander who led a gang of boys that attacked two ninth graders with swords on Saturday.
The boy was only identified as Sinh, son of a commander at the Tien Giang Province Police in the Mekong Delta, Tuoi Tre reported.
One of the victims, Nguyen Tan Kha, sustained wounds to his right hand and left arm trying to defend himself from the attack on Saturday. The other student, Phan Quoc Thai, got leg injuries.
Kha and Thai, two students from Le Ngoc Han Secondary School, said they had no problems with Sinh.
They were attacked by Sinh and four other young men with falchions as they left school with a school girl whom Sinh had been looking for a day earlier until he was turned away by teachers.
Sinh was not a student at the school.
The boys said they were attacked as they hid at a CD shop, where several employees panicked and fled.
Local inspectors met with the commander about Sinh but he said his son had disappeared.
