Vietnamese police have arrested a Slovenian businessman for whom there is an Interpol warrant for committing a US$200,000 fraud at home.
Investigators from the Ministry of Public Security and officers from the central province of Binh Thuan arrested Jurij Trcek, 50, following requests from Interpol and the Slovenian police.
Investigations found Trcek, as director of a company, had signed various contracts to buy construction materials but only paid part of the dues and fled with more than $192,000.
Interpol issued a warrant in March last year.
Vietnamese police tracked him down to a hotel in Binh Thuan on October 20.
They are investigating his activities in Vietnam before handing him over to Slovenian authorities.
