A woman who smacked a ground service employee's face during a quarrel over overweight carry-on baggage at Tan Son Nhat Airport this week will be fined VND7.5 million (US$347), aviation authorities said.
The incident took place on April 7 when Nguyen Thi Hang, 35, was checking in at the airport for a VietJet Air flight to Hanoi.
The ground service worker asked her to weigh her carry-on items, which looked heavier than the permitted 7 kg.
However, Hang, hailing from Hung Yen Province near Hanoi, ignored the request and started to yell at the worker before slapping her face.
Hang's baggage turned out to weigh more than 7 kg.
