Police in Ho Chi Minh City on Monday said they are seeking murder charges against a local man who tried to kill his wife and their 3-year old daughter with a hammer earlier in January.
Le Cong Tin, 28, started the attack after a fight with his wife Mai Thi Thuy Trang.
According to the police, Tin and Trang argued over money on January 9.
Tin claimed that he had not received his monthly salary yet, but Trang was told by one of his colleagues that his company had already paid its employees.
After the heated argument, Tin hit his wife’s head with a hammer. She collapsed.
When their daughter came over and cried next to her mother, Tin also knocked the little girl with the same hammer.
He then tried to killed himself by hitting the hammer to his head three times.
The whole family, all unconscious, were discovered and rushed to hospital by their neighbors.
Doctors said the daughter suffered more severe injuries than their parents.
