A Vietnamese man accused of entering South Korea illegally last week was apprehended early today, Yonhap news website reported.
The 25-year-old was detained in Daegu, 237 km south of Seoul, at around 2.30 p.m. local time, the report quoted the South Korean Justice Ministry as saying.
The man, whose name was not disclosed, on Jan. 29 forced his way through the gate of an unmanned automatic immigration checkpoint at Incheon International Airport, west of Seoul.
He was supposed to leave for Tokyo that morning after arriving at Seoul via Korean Air at around 5.05 a.m. from Hanoi.
According to Yonhap, the Board of Audit and Inspection, South Korea's state audit agency, plans a "massive inspection" of Incheon airport after a recent series of security breaches.
