A Vietnamese man was arrested in Kenya for trying to smuggle a large quantity of rhino horns out of the country, Kenyan news website Standard Media reported.
Le Manh Cuong, 29, was caught with five pieces of horns weighing 20.1 kilograms in his luggage at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the capital Nairobi Tuesday, it said.
It quoted Kenya Wildlife Service as saying Cuong was arriving from Maputo, Mozambique, and was scheduled to board a flight to Qatar en route to Hong Kong.
He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday, it added.
The Kenya Wildlife Service has recently increased surveillance at ports to detect smuggling of wildlife products.
Some 39 foreigners, including nine Vietnamese and 19 Chinese, have been arrested for trying to smuggle illegal wildlife products out of Kenya this year.
Last month a Chinese national was sentenced to two and half years in prison for ivory smuggling.
