Police in the southern Vietnamese province of Bac Lieu Tuesday plan to file charges against a man who allegedly bit a police officer.
Mai Thanh Hiep, 44, had bitten Tran Hoang Anh, deputy police chief of Ho Phong town, in the face on October 13 and confessed to it, news website VnExpress reported.
The bites were deep and Anh had to get nine stitches.
The police said Hiep, who has a history of causing trouble, including getting into fights, was usually let off without criminal charges, but not this time.
